Miller’s Guild

This bar restaurant inside downtown Seattle’s Hotel Max does bar snacks for $5 and cheaper, but why stop there when you can have happy-hour dinner at the bar: a smoked rib sandwich ($10) or a mushroom-bacon cheeseburger ($12), the latter comes with “motoraioli,” the grill drippings used to make the aioli. Sandwiches are served with beef-fat fries. Don’t bother with a diet Coke at this point. Beers go for $4-$5. Or get a Rainier and a shot for $7. Well drinks are half-off. Happy hour daily 2-6 p.m. and again 9-11 p.m.; 612 Stewart St., Seattle; 206-443-3663, millersguild.com

Mioposto

The local pizza chain does salads for $5 and smaller Neapolitan-style pizza for $7, but spend an extra two bucks for one of its specialty pizzas — lamb sausage, clams or the Pinocchio (with salami, Italian fennel sausage, pepperoni and olives). Well drinks, beer and house wines are $4-$6. Cocktails are $6-$9. Bar noshes and shared plates including roasted clams (with butter, garlic and wine) and calamari puttanesca go for $7-$10. Happy hour daily 4-6 p.m.; four locations: Mercer Island, Mount Baker, Bryant and West Seattle, miopostopizza.com

Dandylion

The new Mediterranean-cuisine-inspired tapas bar in Lower Queen Anne serves shared plates and bar noshes such as grilled chorizo and bowl of clams and mussels for $3-$8 if you get there early. Spanish wines by the glass go for $6. Craft beer, cider and cocktails range from $5-$7. Dandylion is building a speakeasy-inspired bar in the back, scheduled to open in mid-November. Happy hour daily 4-6 p.m.; 532 Queen Anne Ave. N., Seattle; 206-453-4601, dandylionseattle.com

Crown Hill Broiler

This greasy spoon in North Ballard does chargrilled burgers on Macrina brioche buns. Changes on the menu are coming soon, but its popular happy-hour menu isn’t going anywhere. Favorites include $2-$5 beer sponges such as short-rib poutine and garlic-butter clams. Draft beers are a dollar off. Happy hour daily 3-6 p.m.; 8037 15th Ave. N.W., Seattle; 206-781-3344, crownhillbroiler.com
