Lagardère Travel Retail opens two Johnny Rockets restaurants at Warsaw Chopin Airport

POLAND. Lagardère Travel Retail has opened two Johnny Rockets restaurants at Warsaw Chopin Airport.

The first opened in January in the landside departures area. The full-service restaurant has 77 seats and an open kitchen, where travellers can see meals cooked in front of them.

Founded in 1986 in the USA, Johnny Rockets operates over 350 franchises and owns locations in 32 countries worldwide

A flagship location opened airside last week between the VIP and general security checks. It has 117 seats, an open kitchen and a large bar.

Fast food brand Johnny Rockets offers fresh, cooked-to-order burgers, fries and shakes and is notable for the dance routines performed by staff at least once an hour.

Staff working at the Warsaw Chopin locations took part in a week of training conducted by Johnny Rockets US.

The restaurant aims to offer a modern twist on the classic diner

Lagardère Travel Retail has reported “very promising” initial results for the landside outlet which it said were beyond expectations, with up to 1,400 tickets per week. “The brand is particularly popular amongst airport employees, who are loyal customers and represent a great share of the restaurant’s daily guests,” the company said.

A launch campaign for both restaurants will begin in mid-2018, which Lagardère Travel Retail said would help build brand awareness for Johnny Rockets in Poland.
