US Marshals continues search for man wanted for rape in Indiana, wife sought
A search continues for a man wanted for rape and child sex trafficking in Indiana and now includes a search for the man's wife.
U.S. Marshals have elevated the search for Antonio Lewis Jr. from Indiana and his wife, Checole Jaean Stewart-Lewis.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office says there are currently no warrants for Stewart-Lewis and believes she has critical information regarding Lewis' whereabouts. They say, as of last week, she can no longer be located.
Since Lewis' warrant was published mid-February, agents have developed information connection Lewis to St. Tammany Parish and Kenner.
They believe he has ties in the Tangipahoa Parish area and believes he has cut his hair from the initial picture.
U.S. Marshals believe Lewis relocated to Hammond sometime around Christmas and has been staying at a home on Hinson Road.
While in Hammond, police believe Lewis worked at a fast-food restaurant and as a delivery driver for a major retail chain.
According to investigators, Lewis may have had a prior federal firearm-related conviction and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about Lewis’ whereabouts can contact the Criminal Investigations Office at 985-902-2088.
