The raging tide of retail closures will drag down more than two dozen Kohl’s locations across the country this weekend, including one in Colorado.

In all, 27 stores across 15 states will close for good on March 29 as part of cost-cutting efforts by Kohl’s that mirror national trends. Retailers such as Macy’s, Walgreens and JCPenney have announced plans to close significant numbers of stores in 2025.

Wisconsin-based Kohl’s has also cut 10% of its workforce and saw sales drop 9.4% in the fourth quarter of 2024, with another 2% drop expected in 2025, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, part of the USA TODAY Network.
