MACUNGIE, Pa. - The team behind a popular spot for pizza, pasta and other Italian specialties in Bethlehem is cooking up a new tasty concept in Lehigh County.

Sonny Shah, owner of Broad Street Pizzeria & Restaurant at 516 W. Broad St. in Bethlehem, is planning to open Main Street Pizzeria & Pub in early May at 191 W. Main St. in Macungie.

The Macungie space previously housed Vince's Pizza and Pub, which closed in the fall.

"We are very excited," Shah said. "Macungie is very nice, and we were looking to expand at a location with a liquor license."

Broad Street Pizzeria & Restaurant was established in 2012, and Shah purchased the business in 2019.

Main Street Pizzeria & Restaurant, tentatively set to open on May 12, will offer a menu that's "nearly the same" as the Bethlehem restaurant's menu, Shah said.

In Bethlehem, customers can enjoy freshly prepared pizzas in an array of sizes and varieties, including 12-inch, 16-inch, Sicilian and 12-inch pan pizza. Pizza by the slice also is available.

Nearly two dozen specialty pizzas include selections such as Buffalo chicken, bruschetta, eggplant rollatini, chicken tikka masala and supreme (sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and green peppers).

Shah labels the chicken bacon ranch, German cheesesteak and grandma (thin Italian-style pizza with fresh homemade mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce) pizzas as top picks.

Customers also can choose from appetizers such as breaded mushrooms, calamari, garlic knots, coconut shrimp and mac n cheese bites; hot and cold sandwiches such as a turkey club, Italian sub, meatball sub, veal parmigiana and chicken or lamb gyro; baked dishes such as baked ziti, lasagna, manicotti, ravioli and veal parmigiana; and pasta dishes (featuring choice of ziti, angel hair, spaghetti, linguini or fettucine) such as chicken piccata, mussels marinara, shrimp alfredo and pink vodka sauce.

Popular entrees include chicken parmigiana, chicken Marsala and chicken Francese, Shah said.

Other menu highlights include a wide variety of salads, wraps, burgers, cheesesteaks, calzones, stromboli, specialty fries and desserts.

The Macungie restaurant will offer lunch specials as well as happy hour specials (5-7 p.m. weekdays), Shah said.

Seating for around 80 guests will be available in multiple dining rooms, including a semi-private dining room suitable for hosting birthday gatherings and other functions.

New wall paint, interior decor and other cosmetic updates are planned, and the team also will be installing new televisions, Shah said.

Additional entertainment options such as trivia on Wednesday nights will be offered, Shah added.
