Sorrel, Dorking

  • Owned by Steve Drake
  • Found in 77 South Street, Dorking, RH4 2JU

Located in Dorking's town centre, this exclusive eatery is open just four days a week and has a lengthy waiting list.

Three, seven and nine-course taster experiences are on offer at Sorrel.

Inspired by the simplicity of humble ingredients, Drake advocates locally grown produce, so expect to see the likes of Etherley Farm in Ockley gracing the menu.

Diners will feel comforted and cosy sitting inside the incredible 300-year-old building, featuring stunning wooden beams.

In 2004, Drake bought his own restaurant in Ripley, called Drake's, which held a Michelin star until its closure in 2016. He set up Sorrel in 2016.

He has worked with famous chefs including Marco Pierre White at The Oak Room, the Roux brothers and fellow British chefs Tom Aikens and William Drabble.

Street Burger, Woking

  • Found in 57 Commercial Way, Woking, GU21 6HN

Street Burger in 57 Commercial Way first opened to customers on April 16.

The restaurant occupies the ground floor of Gordon's eagerly-anticipated new cookery school, The Gordon Ramsay Academy, which will open in the autumn.

Ramsay, who has helped launch the careers of some of the industry's most successful chefs, previously said: "I am beyond excited to finally confirm The Gordon Ramsay Academy will be opening in Woking later this year."

In addition to the "prestigious and exciting" academy upstairs, Ramsay opened the first Street Burger restaurant outside of London on the ground floor of the Woking site.

Every burger costs £15 and comes with an unlimited soft drink, including Coke, Sprite and water.

Tony Parkin at The Tudor Room, Egham

  • Found in Stroude Road, Egham, TW20 9UR

Set among 50 acres of stunning gardens and parkland, there's not a lot to dislike at the stately Great Fosters hotel in Egham in which you will find the intimate and decadent Tudor Room restaurant.

With just 24 covers, there is a sense of exclusivity and luxury to the dimly-lit eatery.

The beautifully decorated dining room is furnished with polished dark wood, a striking fireplace and a magnificent mirror.

Tony Parkin joined the team as head chef in 2019 and acquired a Michelin star in an incredible four months.

Parkin retained the star in the 2021 guide and was also featured in Series 16 of the Great British Menu, where he competed in the London and South East heat.

Bar 163, Egham

  • Owned by Dave Wells
  • Found in High Street, Egham, TW20 9HP

Dave Wells was a MasterChef Professionals finalist of 2020. Previously he cooked at his gastro-pub The Fat Frog in Didcot, where he worked as the only chef in the kitchen.

The dad-of-four wowed the judges in his early rounds, but up against some tough competition he left the show in the last round.

Wells told Oxford Mail at the time that it had been a pleasure and wished the remaining contestants good luck.

He re-launched the 163 Egham restaurant on July 19. On Instagram, he announced the news: "I am excited to announce that I will be taking over 163 restaurant in Egham, Surrey.

"Opening date to be Friday 9th July 2021. A place of which I have been head chef for a total of 10 years, on and off. When Richard Gordon the owner for the last 37 years gave me the opportunity to join him in this new venture, the only answer was YES!

"Not only will I be bringing some of my MasterChef favourites to the menu, I will also be adding a new style of cooking to the 163 kitchen with an open fire BBQ!"

And, over the border...

A 25-minute drive from north-east Surrey is a Michelin star restaurant run by Heston Blumenthal, The Hind's Head.

The restaurant is set inside a restored 15th-century building featuring exposed beams and wooden panelled walls.

As well as a feast for your eyes, your taste buds will also be tingling with delight during a visit here.

On the menu are treats including roast cod with pickled cucumber and mustard cream and cauliflower macaroni with slow cooked hen's egg, Gruyère cheese and a brioche crumb.

Jamie's Bakery, Gatwick

  • Owned by Jamie Oliver
  • Found in Departures Road, Horley, Gatwick, RH6 0PJ

This bakery inside Gatwick Airport is a partnership between Jamie Oliver and his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo.

It's an ideal spot for a pre-flight light bite, offering freshly baked slices of pizza and delicious pastries.

Jamie's Italian in Guildford closed in 2019 due to the struggling restaurant chain going into administration.

The restaurant, which opened in 2009 in Friary Street, is now occupied by McDonald's.
