TUNIS, July 15 (KUNA) -- Covid-19 Delta variant, known by Tunisians as the coronavirus tsunami, prevented people from approaching the sea thus clearing the shores from beach-goers.
The pandemic has claimed more than 16,000 people so far, of them some 4,000 in two months only.
The government imposed a lockdown in many areas, while health authorities closed beaches in Sousse, Nabel, Bizerte and Monastir, removing chairs, stopped service at coffee shops and restaurants, as well as restricted scientific, sport and cultural activities. (end)
