There will be one less spot to get Camarones a la Diabla tacos and queso fundido in Longmont: The original brick-and-mortar Comida will close at the end of the month.

Rayme Rossello began Comida as a big pink food truck before going on to open restaurants in Longmont’s Prospect neighborhood, The Source and The Stanley Marketplace.

“It’s a heartbreaking thing to do, but it’s also the right decision,” Rossello said. “If I wanted to raise our prices or spend less money on proteins and fish or pay my people less, I know we could keep doing it. But that’s not what I’m about or what I want to be about.”

Rossello’s decision to close the Longmont restaurant stemmed from less traffic and revenue at that location. With more opportunities to pull in a larger audience at The Stanley and The Source restaurants, she felt that her time and energy would be better spent on those two spots.

“I feel like it’s time for me to focus on them and make them as great as they can be,” Rossello said.

The last day for service at Comida Longmont will be Saturday, Oct. 28.
