Ownership shuffling, closings, openings of downtown Greenville restaurants continue

Downtown restaurant closes; owners to relocate, reopen with new concept

There’s been some major shuffling of ownerships and restaurant concepts in downtown Greenville, and another one has closed its doors as its owners plan a new concept in a different location.The North Carolina-based Bottle Cap Group on Monday announced it has closed Brazwells Premium Pub. The restaurant management group did not renew the lease at 631 S. Main St. The Bottle Cap Group will be opening a new concept restaurant, Wu’s Cajun Sea Food, at 116 N. Main St., which was previously occupied by The Green Room. The group says Wu’s will offer an “Asian Cajun fusion style” menu.The Bottle Cap Group was founded by three investors in the Charlotte area in 2009.The Brazwell’s location was previously occupied by Ford’s Oyster House. Ford’s was owned by Jason Fletcher, of High Street Hospitality Group.Fletcher opened The Green Room in 2009, and shortly after, he opened Ford’s, followed by SIP, the rooftop wine bar. He sold Ford’s to the Bottle Cap Group in 2015, and he sold them the other two restaurants in April 2016.Fletcher opened The Playwright at 401 River St in September 2015. After closing, rebranding and reopening, Fletcher closed the restaurant permanently in April. Larkin’s Restaurants, which owns Larkins on the River and Grill Marks, is opening Limoncello, an Italian restaurant in the River Street location this fall.The Bottle Cap Group also owns Ink n Ivy, located in the former Corner Pocket space at 21 E. Coffee St., and Diner 24, in the former Charlie’s Steakhouse building at 18 E. Coffee St.The Bottle Cap Group describes Wu’s Cajun Sea Food as “Louisiana low country meets Asian sweet and sexy” in a “fusion of mouth-watering, tongue-scorching spices and low country goodness.”The group says Wu’s will open this winter.
